Who Am I

Valeria Rodriguez is a Dallas-based filmmaker whose work combines grounded, character-driven storytelling with a bold visual style. Holding an MFA from Emerson College, she draws inspiration from her Mexican-American roots, exploring themes of family, identity, and personal legacy. Besides her narrative projects, she directs vibrant, fast-paced music videos and is branching into new genres.

Her creative approach pairs emotional honesty with dynamic visuals, often blending naturalistic performances with expressive use of color, movement, and rhythm. Valeria is dedicated to telling stories that reflect personal experiences and broader cultural themes, while also embracing experimentation and genre exploration to advance her artistic voice.

In addition to her directing, Valeria works as a 1st and 2nd Assistant Camera on various productions. She is skilled in focus pulling, camera and lens prep, slating, media management, and equipment logistics, and she brings a calm, fun, reliable, and detail-oriented presence to every set. Valeria continues to balance creative storytelling with technical craftsmanship, committed to sharing meaningful stories and using her technical expertise to help other filmmakers realize their visions.
